2. Timestables - https://www.timestables.com/ - Students need to be able to instantly recall the times tables up to 12 x12 as well as related division facts. This was a Gr. 5 math expectation, but most students are not there yet! Timestables.com will drill individual and combined times tables and offers various games to be sure you can instantly recall your times tables. Math will become increasingly difficult - if the multiplication and related division facts aren't at instant recall!
3. Khan Academy - https://www.khanacademy.org/ -Excellent for Math (as well has Language and Science)! You can search a math topic for a video to explain the concept, and you can practice math skills and concepts online! They are a nonprofit with the mission to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
4. Math Frog - https://cemc2.math.uwaterloo.ca/mathfrog/ Excellent for Math! Fun resources and online games (organized by topic and grade) for Gr. 4, 5, 6 math for students, parents, teachers.
5. Math Academy - This is the only site that is NOT free! It demands a daily time commitment to progress in a tailored math program to help students progress in their math abilities.
6. EPIC - Excellent online reading sources! Students will login with our class code and can read from a vast array of nonfiction and fiction selections. I do have many collections online that they will also be asked to read from (e.g. Science - Biodiversity and our other units will have collections and a general Gr. 6 level collection). The free version of EPIC, which we use at school, is not available during certain hours outside of school time.
7. Tvo Learn -https://tvolearn.com/pages/grade-6 Excellent for our new Ontario Science and Language curriculums! Lots of info and lessons for expectations in each area!

Educational Websites on Student Portal
OCSB Student Portal - The OCSB student portal has several apps that students will be using at school and can be used at home. Students will need to login with their OCSB student account and password in order to access these apps on their Student Portal.
Here are the most commonly used Apps from the Student Portal:
1. Hapara (Workspace and Student Dashboard): Students will use Workspace to access the majority of their assignments.
2. Scratch: Students can practice their coding skills using Scratch.
3. Mathletics: Mathletics is an online math learning space providing students with tools that align with the math curriculum. It includes age-appropriate learning spaces to reinforce what is being learned in class. Students have access to a range of learning resources including activities, eBooks and videos to support their own learning.
4. Raz Kids: Students have access to books online with Raz-Kids. Students can read, listen to, and even self-record reading these books. Reading-comprehension quizzes along the way show the progress that each student is making.
